For whatever reason people choose to not show their face on camera, it’s okay. Creating content through a camera is just one way of creating content. It’s not the end. You can post all content formats with and without showing the face. Lets not deny the fact that showing the face has many advantages for various reasons, one is people like to see people, so by that concept, showing the face definitely has an edge to the process.
There are many ways you can create content. First, before entering the content creation process, it’s essential to start with the correct mindset and expectations, especially when you’re not going to show your face.
First one is, why content creation?
The obvious reasons are you can work from anywhere, anytime. That’s like the main selling point. And of course, the scale of the internet and the joy of creating your own stuff. It’s ok to get excited about content creation and waste almost a decade figuring out how to be successful in it, and by successful I mean you have a sustainable content creation journey with a good mindset because people get into all sorts of tracks, mindset wise, in content creation. I don’t mean to scare you, I’m just telling you to be aware.
Usually people have someone’s influence when starting content creation, usually that’s popular people like garyvee, etc or maybe they just like it watching someone do it, could be their favorite creator and they are inspired to start it. It could be with a face or without, that’s really not the problem.
Ok, getting back on track, first, you decide what you are going to talk or do and the content format. For example, it could be Reels on Instagram, or 5-min videos on Youtube, or you just want to post small pieces of content, whatever it is, you should know the content format in which you’re going to make the content in.
Now I dont know what you have chosen, i dont know anything, what is your content format, what is your niche, what’s your schedule daily, etc.
The Fake Creator
I don’t want you to waste time in the content creation journey stuck in the fake creator zone. A fake creator is someone who creates content, earns no money for years. There are many interpretations to this, let’s ignore all that. If you make money every month sustainably, then you’re a real content creator, that’s all. Because money is motivation. If you don’t see money, you won’t be motivated to make any more content.
How to be a Real Creator
- First, find out how you’re going to monetize. I don’t care about anything. First have this sorted.
- Let me give you an example, let’s say you make reels on instagram. The best way to make money on instagram is sponsorships if you show your face. But since this post is about faceless creators, the best way to monetize reels is through sales. Create a PDF, simple, just solve a problem for a group, usually around what you’re posting reels about and that’s all.
- When you start seeing the sales, you know it’s a serious opportunity and not some fancy gimmick anymore.
To get started, you can just learn one of the many ways of making reels – through animation, talking head style, and many more ways.
Remember this about content – You post only where there is motivation aka where there is reach from day 1. That’s the secret.
Instagram reels have an insights tab for every piece of content so you can directly check it. Since you’re posting reels, it can start reaching people after just a few seconds of posting. Give it a few hours, maybe 4-5 and check back the views. If views are up, motivation will automatically go upwards and you will be ready to create the next post. If views are low, then how will you create the next post? So, that is why the primary focus is posting on platforms which give organic reach for new creators right away. Youtube shorts really give a lot of views if your content is good. Check social media platforms that give reach by just watching the feed. If you see posts with few views and likes, it’s likely the platform is showing and testing new content.
